Recently, it has been learned from the China Textile Industry Association that the proportion of the domestic sales market has repeatedly hit a new high in the past two years, and has become a major driving force for the development of China's textile industry.
Sun Ruizhe, vice president of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, told reporters that international experience shows that economic growth in major countries is mainly supported by domestic demand. In contrast, in the domestic demand field of textiles and garments, since the outbreak of the financial crisis in 2008, the proportion of domestic sales in China's textile industry has shown a clear upward trend, and the proportion is higher than before the financial crisis. In the first nine months of 2010, the domestic sales value of China's textile and apparel industry increased by 29% year-on-year, about 17% higher than the same period of the previous year; and the proportion of domestic sales continued to increase by 81.14%, an increase of 0.15 percentage points over the previous year. From 2005 to 2010, China's domestic per capita fiber consumption grew at an average annual rate of 4.24%, and per capita clothing consumption grew at an average annual rate of 12.51%.
In addition, from the situation of apparel retail in the first three quarters of this year, the cumulative retail sales increased by 25.4% year-on-year, 12 percentage points higher than the same period last year. From the cumulative growth rate of each month in 2010, the growth rate of more than 25% was maintained, much higher than the previous year.
